New York, NY (August 27, 2012) ‘Nothing Without You,’ an independent feature film written, directed and shot by Xackery Irving will make its international festival premiere and compete for best film at this year’s Toronto Independent Film Festival on Saturday, September 8 at 9:00 pm.

“We are thrilled to debut our film at such a prominent film festival at a 700-seat venue on a Saturday night time slot” said director Irving. “It is exciting to have such an opportunity to showcase our film in Toronto at a festival that caters specifically to truly independent films.”

“Toronto in early September is one of the most widely-attended industry-heavy locales in the world,” says producer Rick Santos. “That is why a festival like Toronto Independent Film Festival runs concurrently with the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and affords such great exposure for our project. We have a great opportunity to reach a wide audience of filmgoers and media professionals.”

The 2012 Toronto Independent Film Festival takes place from September 6 to 15 at the 700-seat Toronto Underground Cinema in downtown Toronto. The venue features a hand-selected 22 feature independent films and offers a fantastic opportunity for filmmakers to showcase their achievements, in a space where all the key players of the film industry have gathered.

‘Nothing Without You,’ a 95-minute psych-thriller, focuses on a young psych-patient accused of a violent murder, who turns to her court‐appointed therapist to prove her innocence and sanity. In the vain of signature suspense films like Memento, The Machinist and The Sixth Sense, ‘Nothing Without You’ employs a roller-coaster plot to tell the story of main character whose impaired sense of reality sets up major surprises in the film’s plot. The film stars Emily Fradenburgh, Keith McGill, Joshua Loren and Katherine Mapother.

The film most recently received an enthusiastic reception at a packed-house screening at its pre-festival screening at the NewFilmmakers New York Summer Series presentation.
